If you are looking for a way to bring your web design to the
next level, look no further than social media. Social media platforms have
taken a simple design and continued to evolve with the ever-changing pace of
the today's technology.
Web design would still be centuries behind in the world of
technology without social media. Social media has consistently been ahead of
the pace when it comes to collecting data on what users expect when they visit
webpages.
Take for example, the minimalist idealism where everything
is taken away and only the basics are made available to the user. Google was
one of the first to introduce this with their search engine and then applied it
to a more social aspect with Google Hangouts (Becker, 2009).
If you are building a business and want to create a webpage
to promote your business or just looking to create a blog, you need to find
that one thing that will make users keep coming back to your page.
That one thing that users will look for in a web design
is familiarity.
That one thing that everyone is familiar with is social
media platforms, whether its Facebook, X, Instagram, or LinkedIn. Creating a
web design that can seamlessly interact with these platforms will make users
more comfortable with your site and increase traffic.
The newest feature that social media platforms have been
introducing is the ability for users to engage in 3D art (Design and Fonts,
2024). This option gives users the opportunity to engage and create
something that is their own. If you have products that you are trying to promote,
allowing the users to have customizable options will add a sense of belonging.
Social media has made their platforms user friendly, which
in part is due to increasing the amount of user engagement and accessibility as
the newer generation has continues to change the trends. Now everyone has
access to social media platforms no matter where they are, at the tip of their
fingers but the real question is can they access your page just as easily?
